The Ambie Standard Belt Clip is the upgraded clip that now comes with every Ambie holster (since May 2023).
We built this version to fix a real problem.
The original Universal Belt Clip worked, but the lower hook could slip off some belts. So we enhanced the design. That being said, many people using molle belts to wade with their gear loved it as it was perfectly spaced apart for that.
We added more material where it matters. We thickened the middle. We extended the lower lip. The result? A much stronger grip and far fewer issues.
It’s not perfect yet — but it’s a major improvement.
What’s Different
We reinforced three key areas:
- Added material to the back of the retention clip for stronger belt tension
- Extended and thickened the lower lip to reduce slipping
- Reinforced the center arm to reduce flex and hold shape
Less flex. More grip. Better hold.
What It Is
The Standard Belt Clip is:
- Designed specifically for standard 1.5" belts
- The newer version that replaced the original Universal clip as default
- Chosen based on real customer feedback
- Built for a secure, stable fit during normal fishing use
Compatible With
Ambie Fishing Rod Holsters only
Not compatible with:
- Hand Crafted Kydex models
- JettyHawk™ models
Standard vs. Universal Belt Clip
The Standard Belt Clip works best with regular 1.5" belts and provides the strongest hold for that setup.
If you use a MOLLE belt or need more flexibility, the Universal Belt Clip is available separately.
But for a true standard belt, this version holds better.
