The Problems Every Angler Has

You've done it a hundred times. You hook a fish, reach for your pliers, and suddenly you're juggling the rod, the fish, and the hook at the same time with two hands that aren't enough. Or you're standing in a river, both feet finding their footing, trying to retie a knot while your rod shifts under your arm and the current is doing you no favors.

There's no flat surface when you're wading a creek. No rod rack when you're on the bank. No table when you're working a pier at low tide. The ground is muddy, sloped, or underwater. So you improvise — and it works, until it doesn't.

This is NOT for lazy fishing.

Pine 9 was founded in New Hampshire by a lifelong fisherman who got tired of improvising. He wanted both hands free without putting the rod down, without leaning it against something, and without thinking about it. What started as a personal solution got refined through five-plus years of real-world testing across rivers, lakes, docks, surf, and rocky shorelines — and became the fishing rod holster that 60,000 anglers now carry on the water.

The fix is simple. The rod lives on your hip. You pull it when you're ready to fish. You holster it when you need your hands. That's it.

What Is a Fishing Rod Holster?

A fishing rod holster is a belt-mounted, wearable rod holder that keeps your fishing rod secure at your hip — tip up, stable, and ready — while both your hands are completely free.

The rod slides into a comfortable position that is perfectly designed for the proper angle to keep your rod out of the water, and the line away from your neck if the wind blows. Excellent for when you tie knots, unhook a fish, bait a hook, clear stubborn weeds you ca't shack, or doing anything else that requires two hands and your full attention.

When you're ready to cast again, you just twist and pull it out.

Pine 9 makes two models: The JettyHawk, and our ambidextrous freshwater only model Ambie. Each designed for different fishing environments and rod setups. Both mount to a standard belt or wading belt, both handle spinning and casting rods, and both are built and assembled in New Hampshire from American-made components.

This is not a rod stand. Not a bank stick. Not a boat holder. It's a wearable solution that goes wherever you go. Whether wading a river, working a shoreline, standing on a dock, bridge or bass boat, paddleboard, fishing a pier, or grinding through a surf session at the beach. If you're on your feet and fishing, a Pine 9 holster belongs on your belt.

60,000+ Holsters — Here's What Anglers Say

Since 2020, Pine 9 fishing rod holsters have shipped to anglers across all fifty states. Rated 4.8 stars on Amazon. Used by waders, bank anglers, surf fishermen, dock fishermen, and everyone in between.

The reaction is almost always the same: "Why didn't I think of this sooner?"

"My boyfriend raves about this item all the time!! Absolutely loves it, and uses it every time we go out to fish, which is super cute because he rarely compliments. The quality is great, adjustability is only as good as you are at adjusting placement on your belt. When he’s fishing and needs to change lures, it’s a god send — he’s able to hold his rod securely with it, and feel safe changing them while he does so. Love it!!!"

"Great product. I'm glad Pine 9 decided to produce this model. It's very handy if you enjoy walking along the beach while you are surf fishing."

"When shoreline fishing it can be a challenge to juggle your tackle bag, bait, rod, and net. It never even occured to me that something like this existed until Amazon recommended it. This thing is great! When I need to change bait I just slide the rod into this holder on my belt and it sits there securely, leaving my hands and arms free."

The Pine 9 Name Has a Story Worth Knowing

The Pine 9 is named after a piece of New Hampshire history. In 1772 — three years before Concord and Lexington — a group of New Hampshire colonists stood up against the British Crown over the right to harvest their own white pine trees. It became known as the Pine Tree Riot, and it's considered one of the first acts of colonial resistance in America, which is best known as the spark to the Boston Tea Party and following events leading up to the revolution that founded our country.

The name Pine 9 reflects those same values: independence, self-reliance, and the refusal to accept a bad situation when a better one is within reach. It's a New Hampshire brand in the truest sense — built here, tested here, and shaped by the same stubborn practicality that's defined this state for 250 years.

The Pine Tree Riots are a genuine part of American history that most people have never heard of before.
